Description M94 is an interesting "three tiered" galaxy, consisting of a bright barred core, a dimmer but tightly wound and somewhat lumpy surround, and a much larger, fainter and more diffuse outer halo.
Constellation Canes Venatici, the two hunting dogs of Bootes: Astarion and Chara.
