Starburst Galaxy NGC2903

Object Data
Description NGC2903 is classified as a "starburst" galaxy, due to the high number of new stars along what appears to be a fresh new "bar" in the center of an otherwise unremarkable spiral galaxy. The bar seems to cut across older previously formed starry arms.
